Versus Part 2

The taxi fare was more than it usually was for that time late at night. She fumbled with her notes as she handed them to the driver, apologizing for how sweaty her hands were. He didn’t take much notice. And Sae was glad he hadn’t.
She had caught her reflection when the car had past by dark store front, the interior midnight blue, closed for the day. The face she back saw was worrying.
It was blank, expressionless. Lost.

Versus Part 1

A figure looms in a darken alley, the sole of one of their sneakers pressed flat to the brick exterior. Hands clasped in front, thumbs nervously battling each other.
From the very corner of their eye, the far away light source is spliced into three parts as something begins towards them.
The athletic shoe finds itself slipping down the wall until it comes to a stop, toe meeting the cold stone walkway. Hands wrestled away from each other and quickly shoved in pockets.
Wanting to leave suddenly sounds very attractive and the figure turns to leave just as an hand catches her elbow.

“Sae,” says the out of breath girl, “I’m glad you called.”

(HS) Graduation Story Part 2

SAE

When Sae was a child she had once heard when the planets aligned strange things were meant to happen… she was never quite sure on how strange these occurrences were meant to be though.

‘Cats making friends with dogs? Raining money? Volcano eruptions? Just what degree of weird?’

Now that she had gotten older, she knew what it meant… because it was exactly what happened when her team members had free time, at the exact same time.

During those free hours Sae found herself going out eat, shopping for clothes, visiting karaoke venues and more… and all non-stop. It felt like an airport layover they were just decided to take over the terminal.

And then like a snap, the planets fanned out and away from each other again and she re-entered the adult world.

Why it was so important to cherish the free time she did have, of course there were some limits. They hadn’t stepped outside their own bodies, they could be easily recognized and their actions could embarrass not only themselves but all the people they cared for. Had respect for.

So, sure, it was wild times… but closer to be pushing through a revolving door rather than tumbling through the rabbit hole.

Anonymous asked: I enjoy your fics, but I wish you changed the font or theme of your tumblr... It's really difficult to read. I find myself copying and pasting into a Word document.

Sorry for that, I don’t really have a preference when it comes to fonts / typefaces so it was a random pick.

Hope the font change helps you see better, thanks for reading.

Anonymous asked: Just wondering, what's your favourite AKB pairing?

Sorry for the lateness of this reply.

My favorite pairing is SaeYuki but honestly, I’ll write about any pairing once a good story arc starts to embed itself into my mind.

(It may take a while, but once it’s in there.)

(HS) Graduation Story - Part 1

SAE

Sae couldn’t help cursing her brothers from under her breath as she wrapped her coat tighter around her frame.

The light-weight covering was the first thing she had grabbed at a short notice when she ducked out the door and it proved to be a bad choice now.

It had been a freebie given to her during a photo shoot. It was a deep dark blue with an edgy military design and Sae had fallen in love with it at the time.

Cut to about three months later and she found herself standing, mostly shivering, outside of a set of school gates and mentally yelling at her brothers for their former school-aged popularity.

‘Not one button left!’ she inwardly steamed, ‘you couldn’t leave one button for your poor sister?’

[Fanfiction] Case of the SnowBunny [Part 3] [End]

“Sae… Is that a rabbit?”

“… Uh,” and the silence stretched out between them completely, to the point Yuki wondered when the tumbleweeds would come rolling on through.

“It’s a toy! I mean, it’s… a rabbits foot,” Sae decided finally, shuffling the obvious bundle in her coat, its foot still hanging out. Her attempt to tuck it back in included her turning her back to Yuki - and then accidentally meeting Yuki’s eyes in the mirrored wall.

“And, I’m self-conscious about my belief in the mystical,” she finished lamely to Yuki’s reflection.

[Fanfiction] Case of the SnowBunny [Part 2]

Yuki felt like she shared too much with Sae, always felt embarrassed whenever she said some flippant comment meant for no one and then looked up to find a bemused Sae paused in her tracks.

And at times ‘paused’ in a literal sense, like someone had called out: “The Daruma doll fell down!”

[Fanfiction] Case of the SnowBunny [Part 1]

Yuki felt taller these days and in a lot of ways, how could she not? She was the third captain of a group with three straight number 1 hits… within a single year. Her star was on the rise, her Majisuka Gauken character had gotten rave reviews and was a fan favorite, and her election number was in the single digits…

That and the fact she was physically higher, standing on a ladder, in the middle of a dance studio.
